These terms govern your use of AskAVideo, an independent ChatGPT plugin that helps ChatGPT retrieve available transcripts from YouTube video pages through Chrome.

The service

The plugin guides ChatGPT to obtain video metadata, transcript text, timestamps, and deep links from the supplied YouTube page. ChatGPT—not the plugin publisher—generates the analysis or conversational answer. The service does not host videos, operate a transcript backend, or claim ownership of captions.

Acceptable use

You may use the service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it to bypass access controls, retrieve content you are not authorized to access, automate abusive volumes of requests, or violate the rights or terms of third parties.

Accuracy and availability

Captions may be incomplete, automatically generated, mistranscribed, unavailable, or changed by the video publisher. Timestamps and AI-generated responses may contain errors. The service is provided “as is” without a guarantee that every public video will work.

Third-party services

Your use of ChatGPT and YouTube remains subject to the applicable terms of OpenAI, YouTube, and Google. AskAVideo is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies.

Free allowance and paid credits

The Free plan includes five distinct YouTube videos per UTC calendar month. A video is counted once per month and follow-up questions about that video do not use another credit. Plus includes 100 distinct videos per month for US$9, Power includes 500 for US$19, and a US$5 one-time pack adds 25 non-expiring video credits while the account remains active. Purchased credits are used after the monthly allowance. Taxes may be added at checkout.

Subscriptions, cancellation, and refunds

Polar is the merchant of record and handles payment, tax, receipts, and subscription billing. Paid subscriptions renew monthly until canceled. You can manage or cancel a subscription using Polar's customer-portal link in your purchase or renewal email, or contact [email protected] for help. Cancellation stops future renewals and access continues through the paid billing period unless applicable law or Polar's process requires otherwise. Refund requests are reviewed under applicable law and Polar's buyer terms; approved refunds or chargebacks may remove unused purchased credits or paid-plan access.

Separate private beta

The Evidence Lab beta has different capabilities and access terms. Beta access does not create a public-plugin paid subscription, and purchasing public-plugin credits does not grant beta access.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from use of or inability to use the service. Do not rely on the plugin as the sole source for medical, legal, financial, safety-critical, or other high-stakes decisions.

Changes

The service and these terms may change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent through the Support page.
